Every step from installing UMRAYS to building your first strategy and connecting Binance. If you get stuck somewhere, check the FAQ or write to us.
Install UMRAYS
Downloads open at launch. System requirement: Windows 10 / 11, 64-bit. Running the installer opens the Launcher; the bot is always started from the Launcher.
Log in to the Launcher
- Log in with your email address; your account, plan and APEX balance are tied to this address.
- Choose your language: the interface and all explanations are available in 23 languages.
- If you have a Binance account, enter your API key and secret key. The key is stored only on your computer, with encryption specific to your computer; if it’s copied to another machine, it won’t open. If you don’t have a Binance account or an API key yet, step 7 explains how to prepare the account and step 8 how to create the key.
- The Launcher tests your key by asking Binance once. If there’s a permission or IP problem, it shows you what to do; once it’s fixed, the start button unlocks.
- You can also continue without entering a key (Continue without key): the bot scans the market and generates signals and alerts, but doesn’t send orders.
Let the bot set up your account settings
On Futures the bot needs three settings: Hedge position mode, Single-Asset margin mode and isolated margin for new positions. If you have no open positions, the bot sets these itself at startup. If you do, it warns you; you need to close your positions and restart the bot.
Build your first strategy
- General Settings: market (Futures / Spot), scan timeframe, coins (all or a single coin) and minimum volume.
- Entry Strategy: pick whichever of the 64 conditions of the 7 indicators you want. When the conditions hold together on the same candle, the entry gate opens.
- Trade Management: leverage, trade size, Max. Total Margin and Max. Open Pos. The bot never goes outside these limits.
- If you want, turn on the modules: MTF Confirmation, BTC Gate, Profit Lock, DCA Rescue, Liquidation Shield.
- Tap the ? next to any box you’re unsure about: an animated explanation opens and shows step by step on the chart what that setting does.
- Scan Summary shows the strategy you built in plain sentences: what you see is what gets searched for.
- Save a setup you like with Profile → SAVE, then bring it back with LOAD.
Try it in DEMO first
In the Launcher, choose “Start with DEMO”; no API key is needed. With a $10,000 virtual balance, all indicators, automatic trading and all five modules work (DEMO runs on Futures). In DEMO the bot runs on real prices but doesn’t send orders; trades are recorded against the virtual balance. Fills happen at the current mark price and fees are deducted; since slippage isn’t accounted for, results won’t repeat exactly when live. The bot asks for separate confirmation when you switch to live.
Get notifications on your phone (optional)
The bot can send trade, protection and critical alert notifications on Telegram through a bot you create yourself; our server never sits in between. The setup wizard shows the steps one by one and takes two minutes. Quiet hours and the daily summary time are your choice.
Prepare your Binance account
If you’ll trade Futures, you need to have opened a Futures account on Binance; nothing extra is needed for Spot. Make sure two-factor authentication is on for your account.
Create your API key
On Binance, create a new key in API Management and give it a name (e.g. “UMRAYS”). Set the permissions like this:
We recommend an IP restriction: make the key usable only from your own computer’s internet address (IP). That way, even if the key leaks somewhere, it can’t be used from anywhere else.
If you get stuck
- “-2015” error: your key’s Futures permission or IP restriction. The Launcher shows the fix screen.
- The bot isn’t opening trades: the conditions you picked may not be holding at the same time, or your margin / position limit is full. Details in the FAQ
- At startup the bot downloads data for a while; it produces no signals until the data is complete.
