UMRAYS Founder's note

I didn't write this bot to win.
I wrote it to stop losing.

For four years I repeated the same three mistakes: I sold too early, I bought too late, and I got liquidated in my sleep. In none of them could I blame the market. I was the one making the decisions, and I was emotional when I made them.

Code has no such problem. It doesn't fear, it doesn't regret, it doesn't ask "what if it falls again?" It applies the rule you give it, and whatever the outcome, it applies the same rule again the next day.

When I was building UMRAYS, I wasn't looking for a new idea. I made a list of my own mistakes and wrote a module to answer each one. Below, I share that list as it is: where I lost, what that loss taught me, and what code it gave birth to.

Chapter 01Profit Lock

"I settled for $1,000. It would have been $20,000."

The coin I'd bought had started to rise, and when the profit reached $1,000, the only question in my head was: what if I give it all back now? I sold, pocketed the money, and felt proud of myself for about an hour.

The coin kept rising. The next day it was still up, and when I looked a week later, my profit would have been $20,000 if I had held on. I had won, yet I was counting the opportunity I'd lost — and that stayed on my mind longer than losing money outright, because this time it wasn't the market that had made the mistake, it was me.

It had nothing to do with analysis. What made me sell early was fear, and every time, fear spoke the same sentence: "Get out now, lock it in." Because I couldn't pull that sentence out of my own head, I wrote a module that would take the decision away from me.

Profit Lock moves the protection level up behind you as the profit grows. There are two ways: you define three tiers — it stays close while the profit is small and gives the position room to breathe as the profit grows; or you choose Candle Trail, and the stop moves to the low of each closed candle. In both cases the stop only moves up. If the price turns, it sells anyway and you take that $1,000. If it doesn't, the upside stays open, and you never say "I sold too early" again.

In short, I'm not the one making the decision. The side without fear is.

Chapter 02DCA Rescue

"I bought at $10. It fell to $5. I waited for months."

I bought a coin at $10, and right after I bought it, it started to fall: 8, 7, and then $5. Half the money was gone. I didn't sell, because selling meant signing off on that loss. I told myself, "it'll get back to 10, and I'll get out then," and I started waiting.

Months went by. I saw 8 and felt relieved; then it dropped to 4, then 6, then back to 5. That price never came again. And that wasn't even the real loss: my capital stayed locked in a single coin for months, and all that time I could only watch other opportunities go by.

Once, I tried averaging down. When it hit $5, I thought, "let me buy a bit more and bring my cost down," but I couldn't bring myself to do it. The same sentence was playing again: what if it falls even further? Having already lost half, risking the rest didn't seem like something I could do at that moment.

DCA Rescue takes the emotion out of this decision, but it doesn't buy blindly either. It doesn't buy just because the price dropped; it waits until all the rules you defined are met again — your entry strategy, your MTF confirmation, your BTC gate, your volume filter. When they all say "the trend has turned" together, it buys at $5; when it adds the same amount as the first purchase, your cost becomes 6.67 instead of 10.

When the coin reaches $8, you no longer have to wait for 10; Profit Lock kicks in and closes the position in profit. Had it fallen to $1 after 5, it would add the same amount again on the way back up, bring the average down to 2.31 and rescue you again at $4. That's why I named it Rescue.

Let me be clear: DCA works within the budget and rule limits you set. As long as an asset doesn't fall forever and your budget doesn't run out, it brings your cost down. It is not a profit guarantee; the market risk is always yours.

Chapter 03Liquidation Shield

"I woke up in the morning. The coin was at $14. I had been liquidated."

I thought I was being careful when opening a futures position: I went in with 50% margin, entry at $10, liquidation level at $5. When I checked before going to bed, everything was in place.

In the morning the coin was at $14. At first I thought I'd made a profit, then I looked at the account: there was no position.

During the night there were two five-minute candles. In the first, a wave of selling pushed the price down to $4.5; in the second, it recovered to 12.5. Ten minutes in total. In those ten minutes the price went below my liquidation level and the position was closed. In the morning I would have been 40% in profit; I lost 100%.

My analysis wasn't wrong — the coin really did go up to $14. What was wrong was that I wasn't at the screen during those ten minutes. Sleeping isn't a mistake; being unprotected while you sleep is.

That's why Liquidation Shield exists. When the price approaches liquidation, it widens the distance by adding margin to the position. Had it been running that night, my liquidation level would have been pulled down to 2.25 when the price hit $4.5, and the position would have stayed open. And when the price climbed to $14, it would have taken the margin it added back to the wallet; my money wouldn't have sat locked up for no reason.

Chapter 04BTC Gate

"The coin was right. The timing was wrong."

My rules were met, the signal came, I bought. There was nothing wrong with the coin I'd picked either. But Bitcoin was falling in those hours, and the market's unwritten rule kicked in: when BTC falls, altcoins follow. How good the coin is doesn't change a thing; when the tide goes out, all boats go down.

The mistake wasn't in my analysis but in my timing. I had made the right trade at the wrong hour.

Even when a signal comes in, the BTC Gate doesn't open right away; it looks at Bitcoin first. You decide what it checks on which timeframes: is the price above the EMA on the 1-hour, is the DMI strong on the 4-hour, is the direction up on the 12-hour. If the conditions aren't right, no trade is opened, and you see on screen, one by one, which condition wasn't met — so a trade that didn't open never remains a mystery. Before you start the scan, you can also press CALCULATE to see whether Bitcoin currently meets your rules.

Chapter 05MTF Confirmation System

"Looking at a single chart is watching the world through a single window."

On the 15-minute chart I saw an entry that looked flawless, and I bought. I hadn't bothered to check the daily chart. If I had, I would have seen that I was inside a downtrend channel that had been going on for months. The 15-minute chart was right; the whole picture was wrong.

The MTF Confirmation System looks at 12 timeframes at once. And here's the real difference: you enter a separate rule and a separate value for each timeframe — RSI on the 15-minute, DMI at least 22 on the 4-hour, price above the EMA on the daily; all checked at the same time.

Most systems that say "MTF" settle for looking at a single higher timeframe. Here there are six indicators × twelve timeframes, and every cell works independently: in MTF alone, the number of selection combinations you can set up for one direction exceeds 1073 — and the values you type into the boxes aren't even included in that number.

None of these modules was born from an idea.

Each one was born from a sleepless night, a morning shock, money locked up for months. I made these mistakes; I wrote UMRAYS so that you don't have to make them too.

I'm not promising you any gains. The only thing I promise is this: your rules will run exactly as you wrote them, while you sleep and when you're afraid.

Code doesn't fear. It doesn't hope. It doesn't regret.
It just applies your rules.

UMRAYS is not an investment advice tool. It does not guarantee profit. The risk of losing capital in crypto markets is real, and all responsibility lies with the user. The bot only applies the rules you define, without emotion.
