Liquidation Shield settings

The setting boxes in the Liquidation Shield section: what each box does and what each value means. From the window the "?" next to the box opens in the bot.

Protection Distance (%)

What exactly does this condition ask?

How far the liquidation price is kept from the mark price; this number is the shield's only target.

Which settings does it read?

In the panel, 40. Every round, target = mark × (1 − 40/100) (1+ in SHORT). If the real liquidation is closer than the target, margin is added by the difference; if farther, it's withdrawn by the difference; if the difference is smaller than Min Margin Operation, nothing is touched.

How do you use it?

LONG 141,29, 10x isolated: natural liquidation ~10% below. Since the target is %40 (the chart example was drawn with 8% for readability), the bot added margin even at opening; it kept adding as price fell, and withdrew as it recovered. Increasing %40 pushes liquidation further away but ties up more capital; decreasing it frees capital, but liquidation gets closer.

What is liquidation shield?

Liquidation Shield is margin management that keeps an isolated position's liquidation price always the same distance from the mark price: target = mark × (1 − Protection Distance%). If liquidation is closer than the target, it adds margin to the position; if farther, it withdraws surplus margin to the wallet; it doesn't touch differences smaller than Min Margin Operation, and additions stop once Total Budget is used up (0 = unlimited; Max Total Margin is the absolute cap). Doesn't work in cross margin.

Does this condition close the position?

The shield doesn't close the position; it adds and withdraws margin. Once the Total Budget or Max Total Margin cap is used up, additions stop and the position stays with that margin. What closes it is your choice: if Profit Lock is on, PNL tracking takes over (while it's on, the Trailing Stop, Take Profit Net, Limit Take Profit Net boxes are locked); if it's off, the numbers you entered in these three are placed as orders on Binance and the position closes from there. DCA Rescuer and Liquidation Shield kick in under their own conditions; and you can always close from the panel with CLOSE or manually from Binance.

Min margin transfer (%)

What exactly does this condition ask?

No margin addition/withdrawal smaller than this is made; a threshold that keeps the shield from generating a transaction on every little wiggle.

Which settings does it read?

In the panel, %3. If the difference between target and real liquidation, in dollars, is below this threshold, nothing happens that round. A small threshold means frequent, small transfers; a large threshold means rare, big transfers.

How do you use it?

When price fluctuated by 0.3, the required correction came out to $0.40 — below the %3 threshold, the bot didn't touch it. On a sharper drop, once the difference reached $2.10, margin was added. Setting the threshold too low makes the bot move margin on every candle (noise); too high lets liquidation drift from the target for a long time.

Total Budget ($, 0=unlimited)

What exactly does this condition ask?

The total margin the shield can add net across all positions; once used up, additions stop, withdrawals continue.

Which settings does it read?

In the panel, $0 (0 = unlimited). Margin added minus margin withdrawn can't exceed this cap; an addition that would exceed it isn't made, and PROTECTION BUDGET EXHAUSTED is shown. Independently of this, Max Total Margin is the absolute cap.

How do you use it?

Budget $0. During successive drops, the shield kept adding until it filled the budget; on the next approach, OUT OF FUEL — no addition was made, the position stayed with its own margin. Leaving the budget at 0 lets the shield add whatever margin is needed (up to Max Total Margin); setting a limit prevents all your capital from flowing into a single position in a bad scenario.
